When Does Ovulation Occur

when does ovulation occur during the first month on the pill?

I just started taking the birth control pill, and I was told it would not be effective until the second month, so I assume ovulation still occurs during the first pack, but is it at the normal time (14-18 days after my period) or during the first few days on the pill?

Birth control pills actually suppress ovulation so u don't release an egg and get pregnant. In most cases the pill will be effective after 7 days of taking it. So during those seven days you will have to use a secondary form of contraception.
