Trying To Conceive Fertility Anyone that went thru fertility tratment??? or trying to conceive?
I've been trying for 7 months with no luck. I'm 35 and I don't want to wait more until seeing my OBGYN. I am curious to know. How do they start? Is there any specific days of my cycle where tests are needed? which kind? I tried the Ovulation Predictors for 3mo. but they were never positive. Any ideas?
I agree that you should not wait any longer before meeting an RE to have some basic tests done. If you got three months of negative OPKs then they'll want to check that you're ovulating normally, which is done by an FSH test very early in your cycle (normally on CD3). They'll also do a progesterone test around CD21 (if your cycles are on the short side, it might be sooner than CD21) and DH will probably have to do a sperm test.
You'll probably meet the RE, and then for the tests you'll simply stop by and have the blood drawn by a nurse. Ensure that you ask them what the expected levels for each test should be, because often they call you up and give you the data over the phone: if you have no idea what's 'normal' it can drive you crazy. Take a pen and paper to your first meeting and write down all the complicated acronyms they tell you, so that you can come home and Google them later Also take a list of your last 6 cycle lengths, and other data you might have. For example, if you can feel ovulation and have noted it down, take that info, also any BBT or CM charts. Anything that can remove one step in the analysis process; it can also save you time and money if they find they can skip a test or two.

I'm getting my birth control (Mirena) out in one week. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on increasing your fertility. I have already bought some ovulation strips, and I was wondering if there was anything else I can do. We want to get pregnant as soon as possible. Thank you so much
From what my ob told me when i get the mirena taken out then everything will go back to normal. Its suppose to be as if we never had any birth control.
