Ovulation Kits
Ovulation kits?
Does ovulation kits really work? If they tell you exactly when you will ovulate will they tell you the truth? I've never used one before and I'm not even sure how to. Any advice? Thank You!
Yes they work. I have been seeing specialist and had to do the testing and report to my Dr's office as soon as I got a positive. At that time they did an ultrasound which showed that I had a mature follicle. The test doesn't show that you are ovulating, but that you have a surge in the chemical which tells your body to ovulate.
I would suggest the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor, it's much more expensive than the over the counter 7 day boxed version, but you don't run out of sticks (as one responder mentioned) and you don't have to decipher the color of the line (as another responder mentioned).

did you find ovulation kits helped you to conceive?
i had been trying to conceive for 6 months, my sister started trying and the 1st month she got pregnnt, she said it was from ovulation kit and she gave me the rest, im eating very healthy and excersising and doing everything i can and my sister is overweight, eating bad and not excercising..
so im just wondering did ovulation kits help you and how long were you ttc before you became pregnant?

I have tried every ovulation predictor kit on the market 4 years ago and I was so incredibly confused by them that I gave up. They're difficult to read unless you get the digital variety, which I liked. I ended up seeking fertility treatment because I never got pregnant on my own after several years of trying, but if you're having trouble with the ones you pee on and look for lines, I'd suggest going for the digital ones. They're more expensive, but it saves you the second guessing and confusion I associate with the other kind. Other than that, it sounds like you're doing everything right. I was ttc for 3 1/2 years before I finally got pregnant, but like I said it was with the help of a fertility clinic and by that time they were monitoring my ovulation and I was no longer using ovulation kits. You might also consider using a basal body temperature thermometer and charting your waking temperature every day during your cycle in addition to using the ovulation kits and checking cervical mucus, so you can have a clearer picture of what your body is doing.
